Islamabad (GNP): President Asif Ali Zardari has sent warm congratulations to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Kingdom’s 96th National Day, noting that the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and Makkah Joint Defence Agreement have further reinforced the strategic dimension of Pakistan’s long-standing partnership with the Kingdom.
In letters addressed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President reflected on the deep bonds of faith, shared history, friendship, trust, and solidarity connecting the two nations.
Zardari said both countries place great value on their close relationship, characterized by strong cooperation and mutual support across bilateral, regional, and international platforms. He described the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and Makkah Joint Defence Agreement as significant milestones in the two nations’ enduring partnership, contributing meaningfully to regional peace, stability, and security.
The President expressed confidence that the fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would continue to grow and expand across a range of shared interests, benefiting both countries and their peoples.

In his message to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister specifically, Zardari said he looks forward to welcoming him to Pakistan at a convenient time in the near future and to working closely together to further strengthen and broaden bilateral cooperation.
