YouTube eases monetization policy to help more creators earn money

YouTube lowers monetization requirements to help creators earn more.

California, 15 June, 2023 (GNP): YouTube has announced that it is easing its monetization policy to make it easier for creators to earn more from their videos.

The new policy will lower the minimum subscriber and watch time requirements for creators to be eligible for monetization, and will also allow creators to earn money from videos that are shorter than 10 minutes in length.

“We want to make it easier for everyone to make money on YouTube,” said Neal Mohan, Chief Product Officer at YouTube. “By lowering the monetization requirements and expanding the types of content that can be monetized, we’re opening up the opportunity for more creators to earn a living from their work.”

The new monetization policy will go into effect on July 1, 2023. To be eligible for monetization, creators will need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months.

Creators will also be able to earn money from videos that are shorter than 10 minutes in length, as long as the videos meet YouTube’s advertiser-friendly content guidelines.

“This is a great day for creators,” said Matt Koval, CEO of the YouTube Creator Academy. “By making it easier for creators to earn money, YouTube is helping to level the playing field and give everyone a chance to succeed.”

The easing of monetization policy is part of YouTube’s ongoing commitment to helping creators succeed.

In recent years, YouTube has made a number of changes to its monetization policies, including introducing a new program that allows creators to earn money from live streams, and expanding the types of content that can be monetized.
