Beijing, 25 May, 2023 (GNP): Chinese President Xi Jinping participated in the opening ceremony of the second Eurasian Economic Forum of the Eurasian Economic Union through a video link, following an invitation.
Delivering a speech on Wednesday, Xi acknowledged the profound global changes occurring in the world today, emphasizing the inevitable trend towards multipolarity and economic globalization.
He highlighted the significance of Asia-Europe cooperation in the face of a turbulent world, as it not only impacts the well-being of the region’s people but also holds great influence on global development.

Xi introduced the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative, calling for collaborative efforts among nations to establish an open, inclusive, clean, and prosperous world characterized by lasting peace and universal security.
He stressed the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, aiming to foster common development and create a path toward global well-being.
As a member of the Eurasian community, China’s progress is intricately linked with the Eurasian region, benefiting both parties. Xi expressed his sincere desire to deepen the synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union, urging all nations to work together with unity and dedication to explore new prospects for Asia-Europe cooperation.

Additionally, he announced China’s readiness to host the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in the latter half of the year, with a commitment to upholding peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit.
The second Eurasian Economic Forum, themed around Eurasian integration in a multipolar world, took place in both online and offline formats in Moscow, Russia.
