Washington (GNP): The United States (US) has sanctioned five Indian nationals as part of a wider action against 10 entities and five ships, over alleged trade in Iranian-origin petroleum, petroleum products and petrochemicals.
The US State Department announced the measures on Thursday. It said the networks targeted operate across India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Türkiye, Iran and the United Kingdom, and that the action aims to disrupt the channels that help Tehran earn revenue from oil and petrochemical exports.
The Indian nationals fall into two groups. Dhwani Nisarg Vora and Nisarg Samir Vora are directors of India-based SSPL Solutions, and were targeted over the company’s imports of about $2 million worth of Iranian petrochemical products between February and July 2025.
The other three are Ketan Manohar Kochikar, Bhupendrasingh Dhalsingh Sahu and Harishyam Hariharan Chundakattil. They were sanctioned as directors of Samudra Marine Services, an Indian customs brokerage firm that Washington alleges facilitated imports of Iranian petrochemical products.
The action then moves beyond India. In Türkiye, the US sanctioned Noorzad Petrokimya along with its director and chief executive, Said Ahmad Noorzad. According to the State Department, the company bought about $3.8 million worth of Iranian-origin petrochemical products between January and July 2024.
The same pattern appears in the UAE, where ArabianPro Materials FZCO was targeted over the export of roughly $2 million worth of Iranian-origin petrochemical products between February and July 2025.

The sanctions also reach the shipping side of the trade. Two UAE-based firms, Horizon Ship Management FZE and Hessonite Ship Management LLC, are covered by the measures. The State Department alleged that they managed ships involved in transporting Iranian petroleum and petroleum products.
Washington presents the whole package as part of US President Donald Trump’s “Operation Economic Outcast”. The US says the operation is meant to disrupt the networks supporting Iran’s oil and petrochemical trade and to restrict the revenue Tehran derives from it.
The State Department said the latest action targets the companies and individuals it accuses of helping Tehran generate revenue from oil and petrochemical exports.
