Moscow (GNP): Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
In his message, President Putin conveyed his sincere greetings to the people and leadership of Pakistan, describing the national occasion as an opportunity to celebrate the country’s independence and its continued development.
The Russian president also highlighted the positive trajectory of relations between Russia and Pakistan.
According to the message shared by the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan, bilateral relations are developing successfully across several areas, including political cooperation, trade, economic engagement and humanitarian affairs.
Putin emphasized that Moscow and Islamabad are also working together on important regional and international issues.
The statement reflects the growing importance both countries attach to strengthening communication and cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
The Russian president expressed, “I am confident that we will continue our constructive joint efforts to further strengthen the entire spectrum of our partnership for the benefit of the friendly peoples of Russia and Pakistan, and in the interests of enhancing international security and stability.”

The message comes as Pakistan marks its Independence Day on August 14, a national occasion commemorating the country’s independence in 1947.
Russia and Pakistan have maintained diplomatic relations since 1948, with bilateral engagement expanding in recent years into areas including trade, energy, connectivity, defence dialogue and regional cooperation.
Putin concluded his message by extending his wishes for the good health and success of Pakistan’s leadership and for peace and prosperity for the Pakistani people.
The congratulatory message underscores Moscow’s interest in maintaining and further developing relations with Islamabad and reflects the broader effort to strengthen Russia-Pakistan cooperation across political, economic and regional spheres.
