China Warns Britain
Beijing June 5, 2020 (GNP): China has warned Britain that interfering in Hong Kong will backfire after the former colonial power vowed to give sanctuary to locals who may flee the city if a controversial security law is passed. This resulted due to the statement of UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab which clearly stated that The UK could offer British National (Overseas) passport holders in Hong Kong a path to UK citizenship if China does not suspend plans for a security law in the territory. It comes after China’s parliament backed a proposal that would make it a crime to undermine Beijing’s authority. Recently, Britain also said it was pushing the US to form a club of 10 democratic countries to mitigate its dependency of 5G technology on China. the west has left with two options for supplying of 5G equipment which includes; Nokia of Finland and Ericsson of Sweden this is the reason West is now mitigating its dependency on China.
