Islamabad (GNP/Reporter): Eleven Pakistani enterprises have earned a place in the 2026 cohort of the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Pakistan, a UK-funded initiative designed to help climate-focused businesses attract investment and scale up solutions that advance Pakistan’s transition toward a low-carbon economy. The programme has an established global track record, having supported over 230 projects worldwide and unlocked in excess of US$500 million in investment, including up to US$40 million within Pakistan alone.
The selected businesses were chosen based on their demonstrated potential to generate meaningful climate impact across a range of critical sectors, including energy, transport, waste management and the circular economy, agriculture, buildings and construction, and financial inclusion.
The initiative sits within the broader framework of the United Kingdom’s support for climate resilience, green growth, and private sector development in Pakistan.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott CMG OBE emphasized Pakistan’s dual reality — its acute vulnerability to climate change on one hand, and its considerable capacity for climate innovation on the other. “Through the Climate Finance Accelerator, the UK is helping promising Pakistani businesses convert ambition into actual investment — backing job creation, economic growth, and a cleaner, more resilient future for the country,” she said.
Each of the selected businesses will receive up to five months of intensive support, combining group sessions with one-to-one guidance from experts in finance, technical development, and gender equality, disability, and inclusion (GEDSI). The programme culminates in a pitch event for climate investors scheduled for October 2026, giving participants direct access to potential financiers and the opportunity to receive targeted technical feedback on their proposals.
Since its launch in Pakistan in 2022, the CFA has guided 22 projects toward commercial deal-making, mobilizing approximately US$40 million in investment for companies including Davaam Life, Shams Power, Concept Loop, and National Foods.
The eleven businesses selected for this year’s programme are: Go Seed IT Pvt. Ltd., Biowaste Energy Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Bioenergy Solution Pvt. Ltd., A.S. Enterprises, Trash It, Sahara Recycling Pvt. Ltd., Waste Busters Pvt. Ltd. / EnterTech Labs Pvt., EcoEdge AI, Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Limited, Buscaro Technologies Holding PTE LIMITED, and Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance.

Vardah Malik, Team Lead at the Climate Finance Accelerator, expressed enthusiasm about the incoming group. “We are delighted to welcome this first cohort to CFA Pakistan,” she said. “The selected businesses reflect the remarkable depth of climate innovation taking root across the country and bring together a compelling mix of startups and growth-stage enterprises working in sectors central to Pakistan’s sustainable development journey.”
She noted that through customized technical assistance covering finance, climate and environmental management, and GEDSI, the programme will work to strengthen each company’s investment readiness and amplify their impact at scale. “We are grateful for the UK Government’s continued support in opening doors for innovative businesses that can simultaneously drive economic growth and meaningful climate action in Pakistan,” she added.
