Texas (GNP): The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) says its SpaceX Crew-12 mission has undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) and begun the journey back to Earth. The undocking took place on Wednesday.
The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft carrying four astronauts separated from the ISS at 8:05 a.m. Eastern Time (1205 GMT). From that moment, the crew’s return trip was under way.
The crew includes NASA astronauts Jack Hathaway and Jessica Meir and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adenot. Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev is the fourth member of the team.
Their departure ends a months-long stay in space for the Crew-12 mission. The next milestone is the landing, which NASA has scheduled for Thursday.
