Islamabad (GNP): Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, will undertake an official visit to Islamabad on 30 October 2026. He is travelling at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
The visit carries added weight because it coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore. It also comes ahead of Singapore’s assumption of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Chairmanship in 2027.
Against this backdrop, Deputy Prime Minister Dar and Foreign Minister Balakrishnan will hold bilateral talks covering the full range of Pakistan-Singapore relations. The two sides will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.
The talks will be accompanied by the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding on disaster management cooperation. It will be signed between Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Singapore’s Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
