Sharjah, 28 March 2023 (GNP): On Monday, Shadab Khan became the first Pakistani (male) bowler and second Pakistani bowler to reach 100 wickets in the shortest format. First Pakistani bowler to achieve the feat is Nida Dar, who has 126 wickets in the T20I format.
The all-rounder overtook Shahid Afridi’s tally of 98 wickets when he dismissed Ibrahim Zadran in the third Twenty20 international against Afghanistan.
Shadab dismissed Usman Ghani in 12th over and reached the milestone of hundred wickets in T20 Internationals.
In the same over, he trapped Mujeeb-ur-Rehman for lbw. Shadab concluded his four-over performance with three wickets and only 13 runs conceded.
Compared to Afridi, who needed 97 innings to claim 98 wickets, Shadab accomplished the milestone in just 83 innings.
Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul are next in line with 85 wickets, whereas Haris Rauf is the next active cricketer on the list with 72 wickets.
