President Xi Jinping condemns suicide bomb attacks in Pakistan, offers condolences

Beijing, 1 October, 2023(GNP): Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed shock and sadness on Tuesday as he conveyed his condolences to Pakistani President Arif Alvi following a deadly suicide bomb attack in Mastung and Hangu.

President Xi, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, offered heartfelt sympathies to the victims’ families and the injured, while condemning all forms of terrorism.

He reiterated China’s firm support for Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism and its commitment to preserving regional and global peace and security.

On the same day, Chinese Premier Li Qiang also extended condolences to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in response to the attack.

Terrorist attack in Hangu and Mastung

On the occasion of Eid-milad-un Nabi two deadly suicide attacks struck the cities of Mastung and Hangu in Balochistan and KPK provinces respectively.

Deadly Suicide attack in Mastung claimed lives of at least 60 people, drawing international outcry and attention.

Whereas the devastating suicide attack in Hangu claimed lives of 5 people.

Although no group had claimed responsibility for both the attacks, but Pakistani authorities had blamed Indian agencies for carrying out terrorist activities in the country.

It should be noted that Pakistan has made this serious allegation at a time when India is embroiled in a diplomatic dispute with Canada over its alleged involvement in the killing of a Sikh leader on Canadian soil.
