Lahore (GNP): Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to review the national law-and-order situation ahead of Eidul Azha and the forthcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections.
The Interior Minister apprised the Prime Minister of steps taken to safeguard lives and property during the Eid festivities, including enhanced security deployments at public venues across the country.
Naqvi also outlined a comprehensive security framework developed by intelligence and law enforcement agencies to facilitate free, fair, and orderly polling in Gilgit-Baltistan, assuring the Prime Minister that adequate measures were in place to protect voters and maintain public order throughout the electoral process.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the Interior Ministry, law enforcement agencies, and security forces for their role in sustaining peace and stability nationwide.

He also praised the Interior Minister’s team for the security arrangements put in place for the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, reiterating the government’s firm resolve to uphold and support the democratic process.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the professionalism and sacrifices of the armed forces, noting that the nation holds its soldiers in the highest regard for their unwavering dedication to national defence, particularly those serving on the frontlines even during the Eid holiday.
Separately, the Chiefs of the Armed Forces conveyed Eid greetings to the Prime Minister, reciprocating his good wishes and reaffirming the military’s full operational readiness to defend the country at all times.
