Urumqi, October 20, 2023(GNP): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar underscored the imperative of fortifying the amicable relations between Pakistan and China in a formal setting. He articulated that China holds a distinguished status as a commendable ally, neighbor, strategic partner, and trusted friend to Pakistan. Kakar delivered these statements during his address to the esteemed academic community at Xinjiang University in Urumqi, China.
The commitment to bolster their partnership was reiterated by both nations during a high-level meeting between the interim Pakistani premier and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Kakar underscored the enduring nature of the Pakistan-China friendship, viewed through a strategic, long-term lens.
The significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was elaborated upon as an exemplar of success within the Belt and Road Initiative. CPEC has contributed significantly to infrastructural enhancements, mitigating energy deficits, and enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Pakistan, while concurrently advancing regional connectivity.

Kakar also advocated for cultural collaboration and the promotion of tourism between Xinjiang and Pakistan within a strictly professional context.
