Nagoya (GNP): Pakistan collected two bronze medals in the men’s singles squash event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with Noor Zaman and Muhammad Ashab Irfan receiving their medals at the official ceremony held at Nagoya Kinjo-Futo Arena, according to a press release.
The two Pakistani players met in the third-place match, where Noor Zaman defeated Muhammad Ashab Irfan 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 13-11) in 26 minutes. The victory ceremony for the singles and mixed doubles competitions marked the conclusion of those events.
Attention now turns to the team competitions, which begin on Monday. The Pakistan men’s team is seeded second and has been drawn in Pool B, while the women’s team, seeded ninth, is also in Pool B.
The men’s team will face the Philippines at 12pm JST (8am PKT) and Kuwait at 5:30pm JST (1:30pm PKT), both on Court 2. The women’s team will take on Hong Kong, China at 10am JST (6am PKT) on Court 5, followed by Mongolia at 3:30pm JST (11:30am PKT) on Court 2, both at Nagoya Kinjo-Futo Arena.

The podium finish comes after a long wait for Pakistan in Asian Games squash, and is being celebrated as a proud moment for the country.
