Islamabad (GNP): NAB Balochistan Land Recovery 2026 has achieved a historic milestone as the National Accountability Bureau Balochistan recovered state land worth hundreds of billions of rupees through a major crackdown on illegal encroachments across the province.
These operations were carried out under the directives of NAB Headquarters with the clear objective of eliminating illegal occupations, promoting transparent accountability, and ensuring the recovery of looted national wealth. The success was made possible through close cooperation between the provincial government, the Revenue Department, and the Forest Department, all working under the guidance of the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
The scale of the problem first became clear during an initial inspection of forest land in Balochistan in 2025, which revealed that there was no formal official record of land transfer for approximately 2.8 million acres of land belonging to the Forest Department.
Taking immediate notice of this alarming situation, NAB Balochistan launched swift and indiscriminate operations on the instructions of the Chairman NAB. In 2025 alone, more than one million acres of government land were recovered, making a recovery of 1,370 billion rupees possible and establishing what is considered one of the largest land recovery operations in the entire history of Pakistan.
NAB Balochistan Land Recovery 2026 Expands Across Six Districts
NAB Balochistan Land Recovery 2026 operations were further accelerated this year, with a total of approximately 260,000 acres of land recovered across six key districts, valued at a combined 414.2 billion rupees. In Quetta, 47,000 acres belonging to the Forest and Wildlife Department were recovered, valued at 354 billion rupees. In Sibi, 2,861 acres worth 2.3 billion rupees were reclaimed.
In Sherani, 15,000 acres valued at 29 billion rupees were recovered. In Hub, 153 acres with a value of 50 billion rupees were retrieved. In Lasbela, 17,000 acres worth 2.2 billion rupees were recovered, and in Gwadar, 176,000 acres valued at 25 billion rupees were reclaimed from illegal occupants.
All of this land belonged to the Forest and Wildlife Department, and the operations were carried out with the full support of the Government of Balochistan. The Senior Member Board of Revenue Balochistan and the Forest Department both played a key role in the success of these operations, and NAB acknowledged that such achievements would not have been possible without strong inter departmental cooperation and coordination at every level.
NAB Balochistan Land Recovery 2026 Brings Digitisation and Zero Tolerance
NAB Balochistan Land Recovery 2026 is not just about reclaiming lost land. It is about building systems to prevent the same problem from happening again. NAB has made clear that it is committed to continuing its zero tolerance policy against corruption and the land mafia, and that illegal occupation of state land will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Operations will continue across the province indiscriminately, in accordance with the law, and with complete transparency until all remaining government land has been accounted for and recovered.
To prevent future encroachments, priority is being given to developing a modern land record system, advancing digitisation, and establishing effective monitoring mechanisms across Balochistan.
The digitisation of land records in Gwadar has already entered its final stages, and this will play a vital role in preventing illegal occupations in the future by creating a clear, verified, and publicly accessible record of all government land holdings across the district.

The recovered land is being handed over to the Forest and Wildlife Department so that it can be used for public interest and environment friendly projects. This campaign will continue with the same energy and commitment across the province, with priority given to the districts that have been most severely affected by illegal encroachments and land mafia activity.
