Bonn, 22 June, 2023 (GNP): Mercedes-Benz is making waves in the automotive industry by embracing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) with its latest integration of ChatGPT into its vehicles. This advanced language model, known for its eerily human-like responses, will provide Mercedes drivers with an enhanced driving experience.
Starting this Friday, a beta program will be available to around 900,000 Mercedes drivers in the United States. Through a simple software update, these drivers will have the option to add ChatGPT capabilities to their vehicles.

This integration will work alongside Mercedes’ existing voice assistant, “Hey Mercedes,” to broaden its functionality and enable it to engage in more extensive and meaningful conversations with the driver.
The program will also be made available on the Mercedes-Benz app.
The introduction of ChatGPT in Mercedes vehicles opens up a world of possibilities for drivers. It goes beyond conventional voice commands, allowing users to ask philosophical questions, discuss complex topics, or even request creative outputs such as poetic compositions.
Whether you’re seeking intellectual stimulation during a long drive or simply looking to have a captivating conversation, ChatGPT will be there to cater to your needs.

“Soon, participants who ask the Voice Assistant for directions to their destination, a new dinner recipe, or an answer to a complex question will receive a more comprehensive response – while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road,” Mercedes said in a news release.
Mercedes-Benz’s decision to incorporate ChatGPT reflects the growing trend of integrating AI technologies into various products. With this integration, Mercedes aims to offer a unique and personalized driving experience that combines the convenience of AI assistance with the pleasure of engaging conversations.
