HEC Chairman Launches Forum of Vice Chancellors of Twin Cities

Islamabad (GNP): The Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Prof. Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, officially launched the inaugural session of the Vice Chancellors Forum for the Islamabad–Rawalpindi twin cities, hosted by the University of Rawalpindi.

The first gathering brought together leadership from more than 25 universities in the region, creating a significant platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas.

In his message, the HEC Chairman emphasized that such platforms help higher education institutions move beyond isolated efforts, allowing them to work collectively to strengthen academic quality, promote a vibrant research culture, and respond effectively to emerging challenges in the sector.

The Chairman further expressed his hope that the Vice Chancellors Forum will continue as a regular platform for meaningful engagement, institutional cooperation, and academic advancement in the region.

The Chairman and Vice Chancellors extended thanks to Chairman BOG University of Rawalpindi Dr. Muhammad Abu Bakar for hosting the event.
