Peshawar, 21 January 2023 (GNP): The appointment of the caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa summary has been signed by the Governor, Haji Ghulam Ali, on January 21, 2023.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Opposition Leader Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly were satisfied with Azam Khan appointing a caretaker Chief Minister. He was the former Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the sources, the caretaker Chief Minister KPK vowed the oath of his office today to perform professional duties, and then he would decide to finalize his cabinet appointment. The Oath taking ceremony was scheduled in KP’s Governor.
Apart from that, Mahmood Khan exercised his constitutional power to dissolve the Assembly of the province on January 18, 2023, and sent an advice summary to the Governor for further action. Haji Ghulam Ali, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, did not waste time and signed the Assembly dissolution letter.
The Chief Minister and Opposition Leader have the power to appoint a caretaker Chief Minister in the concerned province and they consult and agree on Azam Khan for final approval of the caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
