Islamabad (GNP): Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) successfully held its Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 in Islamabad on September 15 and 16, drawing hundreds of students, parents, education professionals, and representatives from academic institutions.
The fair gave Pakistani students a chance to engage directly with representatives from leading Malaysian universities and learn about a broad range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional degree programmes on offer.
Participating universities shared details on internationally recognized degree options, scholarship opportunities, admission requirements, student visa processes, campus facilities, housing, and life as a student in Malaysia. Representatives also offered one-on-one counselling sessions for students and parents to help them navigate the full process of studying in Malaysia.
The event was formally opened by Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, H.E. Dato Muhammad Azhar Mazlan, who spoke about the long-standing friendly relationship between the two countries and the role education plays in reinforcing those ties. He expressed confidence that fairs like this one would help deepen cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan in education, research, innovation, and cultural exchange.
Throughout the fair, students showed strong interest in Malaysian higher education, engaging in in-depth conversations with university representatives about admissions, scholarships, and career prospects. Several students went as far as beginning their admission applications on-site.
EMGS representatives noted that Pakistan continues to be a significant and expanding market for Malaysian higher education, with growing numbers of Pakistani students considering Malaysia for quality international study — particularly at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels. They pointed to Malaysia’s multicultural, welcoming environment, internationally focused academic offerings, and opportunities for students to build skills suited to the global job market as key draws.
The Islamabad fair is part of EMGS’s broader international outreach effort to promote Malaysia as a top study destination and deepen ties with key education markets. It followed an earlier stop in Karachi as part of a three-city tour connecting Malaysian universities with students and families throughout Pakistan.
The programme will conclude in Lahore on September 19 and 20, marking the final leg of the Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 in Pakistan.
The Islamabad event wrapped up on a positive note, with attendees welcoming the chance to gain firsthand information from Malaysian universities and explore options for studying abroad.
