Islamabad (GNP): Eid Milad-ul-Nabi ﷺ is being observed today with deep religious devotion and reverence nationwide. The occasion began with a thirty-one-gun salute in the Federal Capital and twenty-one-gun salutes in all provincial capitals, with the day declared a public holiday.
Special prayers were held following Fajr for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and for the country’s continued progress and prosperity.
The day’s centerpiece event is the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference taking place in Islamabad, themed “Protection, Development and Character Building of the Younger Generation in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Alihi Wasallam.
” Milad processions are underway in cities across the country, with religious scholars and Khateebs reflecting on various aspects of the life of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ and urging the public to follow his teachings and Sunnah. Streets, buildings, mosques and homes have been adorned with green banners, flags and decorative lighting in celebration of the occasion.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on the younger generation to seek guidance from the life of Hazrat Muhammad صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ and to make strong moral character, hard work and service to humanity central to their lives.
In separate messages issued for the occasion, both leaders conveyed warm greetings to the nation and the wider Muslim Ummah on the blessed birth anniversary of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
