Earthquakes rattle Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber pakhtunkhwa,12 December, 2023 (GNP): As per the seismological center, the earthquake tremors were sensed in Swat, Mingora, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, and nearby regions.

People, fearing the quake, left their homes reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba. No casualties or property damage were reported across KP, according to preliminary information.

In November, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale shook Gilgit and the surrounding areas.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) verified that tremors were experienced in Gilgit and neighboring areas. There have been no reported casualties or property damage anywhere thus far.

As per NSMC Islamabad, the earthquake’s depth was measured at 45 kilometers, with the epicenter located 84 kilometers to the Northwest.

In the previous month, a slight earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter Scale shook various parts of Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.

Areas such as Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Cattle Colony, different sections of Malir District, Quaidabad, Shah Latif Town, Sherpao Colony, Landhi, Muzaffarabad Colony, Muslimabad Colony, Steel Town, and their surroundings experienced the tremors.
