Tehran, 15 July, 2023 (GNP): According to the sources, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Gen Syed Asim Munir, held a significant meeting with Iran’s top general, Mohammad Bagheri, in Tehran on Saturday and discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including defense cooperation.

According to a press release by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Munir arrived in Tehran for a two-day visit on Friday where he would meet the Iranian military and civilian leadership and discuss bilateral issues in the areas of defense and security.
As per the sources, Gen Munir met the Chief of General Staff for the Armed Forces of Iran Mohammad Bagheri on Saturday morning. The meeting aimed to increase bilateral interactions to expand military, educational, defense, and security cooperation, the sources said.

During the meeting, the Chief of General Staff for the Armed Forces of Iran, Mohammad Bagheri, highlighted the historical background of the two neighboring countries as a foundation for enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, particularly in the military sector.
