Caretaker Prime Minister inaugurated Pak-China Friendship hospital in Gwadar

Gwadar,5 December, 2023 (GNP): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar inaugurated Pak-China Friendship Hospital and Gwadar Seawater Desalination Plant in Gwadar.

During the inauguration ceremony, he stated that the progress of the CPEC journey would persist, making it a wise decision to actively participate in the developmental endeavors.

Speaking at the event interim prime minister called upon the people of Balochistan, particularly the youth, to embrace the significant development opportunities in their province. He emphasized that critics of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would soon become irrelevant.

The event saw the presence of federal ministers Sami Saeed and Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Balochistan caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Domki, as well as Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, along with officials from both China and Pakistan.

Interim Prime Minister highlighted that the shortened travel time across the province were a direct outcome of CPEC intervention. He informed the audience about the anticipated trade value of $36 trillion in and around China in the near future, underscoring the significance of participating in the journey through skill development rather than adopting a hostile stance.

He remarked that Gwadar had faced challenges related to clean drinking water, and the desalination plant project aimed to significantly alleviate this issue. Additionally, the construction of a 150-bed hospital would ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to the local population, he noted.

He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese ambassador for the solar power project and emergency services in Quetta. He assured full support from federal and provincial governments regarding security and reiterated the commitment of Pakistan Army, police, and law enforcement agencies to safeguard Chinese workers, even at the risk of their lives.

During his discussion with reporters, PM Kakar mentioned that Balochistan’s path to progress has been set, expressing optimism about the province entering a new phase of development.
