Turbat, 31 October, 2023 (GNP): A tragic incident unfolded in Turbat, Kech district, as an armed attack on a police station led to the loss of lives, with four labourers and a policeman losing their lives.

The Commissioner of Makran Division, Saeed Ahmed Umrani, reported that the attack occurred in Nasirabad area, located about 50 miles away from Turbat.

Approximately 17 labourers were staying at the police station for security reasons when the attack transpired. The assailants stormed the police station at 4 a.m., opening fire indiscriminately with automatic weapons.

While the police officers at the gate tried to resist the attack and returned fire, one of them tragically lost his life, and the attackers managed to overpower the rest.

The attackers not only took the lives of four labourers but also injured one. They fled the scene on motorcycles after the attack.

The victims, hailing from Punjab, were working at a government building construction site and were being housed at the police station as a security precaution.
