Turbat, 31 October, 2023 (GNP): A tragic incident unfolded in Turbat, Kech district, as an armed attack on a police station led to the loss of lives, with four labourers and a policeman losing their lives.
The Commissioner of Makran Division, Saeed Ahmed Umrani, reported that the attack occurred in Nasirabad area, located about 50 miles away from Turbat.
Approximately 17 labourers were staying at the police station for security reasons when the attack transpired. The assailants stormed the police station at 4 a.m., opening fire indiscriminately with automatic weapons.
While the police officers at the gate tried to resist the attack and returned fire, one of them tragically lost his life, and the attackers managed to overpower the rest.
The attackers not only took the lives of four labourers but also injured one. They fled the scene on motorcycles after the attack.
The victims, hailing from Punjab, were working at a government building construction site and were being housed at the police station as a security precaution.

The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Azeem, Shahbaz Khan, Baqir Ali, and Shahzed Ahmed, with Mudassar sustaining injuries. All four labourers received multiple bullets, leading to their instant deaths, as per hospital officials.
The attack on the police station near Turbat is the second incident targeting labourers in the area within just over two weeks. On October 14, six workers from Punjab, who were constructing a house in the Satellite Town area, fell victim to a similar attack.
The caretaker Chief Minister, Mir Ali Mardan Domki, has condemned the attack, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. He stressed that Balochistan’s tradition is built on hospitality and not taking the life of a guest.
