Islamabad : Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, hosted a dinner at Rumah Malaysia in honour of YBhg. General Tan Sri Haji Mohd Nizam bin Jaffar, Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia, and his delegation during their official visit to Islamabad.
Guests were served a specially curated menu featuring authentic Pakistani cuisine such as Pulao Rice and Shinwari Lamb Barbecue, alongside Malaysian favourites including satay and mee goreng mamak.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar welcomed the visit, noting that the last visit by a Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces to Pakistan took place more than a decade ago, and described it as a great honour to host General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam. In response, the Chief expressed his appreciation for the warm gesture and shared that Pakistan remains close to his heart, recalling his time in Quetta where he underwent military training earlier in his career.

Earlier, H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Azhar and his spouse, To’ Puan Amelia Amani, had warmly received General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam and his delegation upon their arrival at Serena Hotel.
The visit by the Chief of Defence Forces is expected to further strengthen defence cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan, while reinforcing the long-standing friendship shared by the armed forces of both nations.
