RDA conducts targeted operations against Dengue SOP violations

Implementation of Dengue SOPs is Mandatory, Stern Action to Continue Against Violators: DG RDA Kinza Murtaza

RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, the RDA Enforcement Squad carried out targeted operations against violations of Dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The squad conducted extensive inspections of multiple dengue hotspots across Rawalpindi, including Morgah, Kalyal, and Wazir Town. During the operations, an illegal under construction building in Morgah was also sealed for violating rules.
The actions were taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021, as the property owner was found constructing buildings without obtaining the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and approvals.
The DG RDA Kinza Murtaza reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment, stating that we will not compromise when it comes to the safety and well-being of Rawalpindi’s residents. Compliance with Dengue SOPs is mandatory, and strict action will be taken against violators.
She added that the actions are in line with the directions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has mandated a zero-tolerance policy on encroachments and illegal developments.
The DG RDA urged all property owners, builders, and residents to follow necessary precautions, cooperate with the Authority, and help prevent the spread of dengue in the region. She also appealed to the general public to cooperate in maintaining encroachment-free areas and contribute to making Rawalpindi’s streets safer, more accessible, and free from unnecessary congestion.
The operations were executed by Assistant Director Traffic Engineering Planning Muhammad Daud, Building Surveyor Aamir Mahmood Malik, and other RDA staff members.
