The memorandum sets out three main aims. It seeks to promote cooperation in defence manufacturing, to build up the defence capabilities of the four countries, and to support collaboration in technical defence training and in research and development.
Together, these aims are meant to produce solutions and industries that match the demands of modern defence.
The agreement also carries an economic dimension for the signatories. It is designed to draw on each country’s existing strengths in defence manufacturing, and to bring cooperation, integration and stronger industrial capacity to meet the needs of allied and friendly nations.
