Tajik Cultural Evening Showcases Strong Bonds with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (GNP): The Embassy of Tajikistan joined forces with Centaurus Mall to stage a lively cultural evening in the capital, drawing a sizeable crowd. The programme presented Tajikistan’s heritage and marked the long-standing friendship and understanding between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

Tajik Ambassador Yusuf Sharifzoda thanked the management of The Centaurus for hosting the evening and giving Tajikistan’s traditions and artists a stage. He described relations between the two countries as warm and tested by time, and called Islamabad an important and dependable partner in the region.

He said cultural diplomacy links nations, draws people together and builds understanding. Such events, he added, offer a glimpse of the customs and values of both countries and help communities see how many threads connect them.

Praising the Tajik performers, he said the troupe had made a special effort to show Pakistani audiences the beauty and variety of Tajik heritage. The warm reception from the crowd, he noted, reflected the deep bonds, affection and people-to-people ties between the two nations.

A visiting troupe from Tajikistan performed a colourful mix of traditional music, dance and other art forms. Dressed in bright traditional costumes, the artists drew repeated applause for energetic and graceful acts that expressed Tajikistan’s distinct cultural identity.

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Tourism, praised the artists and thanked the Tajik Embassy for its part in the event’s success. He singled out Ambassador Sharifzoda for working with The Centaurus to advance cultural diplomacy and people-to-people contact.

Khan said cultural exchange brings nations closer and builds understanding. Pakistan, he said, values its relations with Central Asia and intends to deepen them through tourism, trade and cultural cooperation.

He said the government wants to promote tourism and present Pakistan’s natural beauty, history and diversity to the world, and that his office and other relevant bodies were working to draw foreign visitors by upgrading facilities, expanding international outreach and creating chances for cultural engagement.

Central Asian states, he added, occupy a special place in Pakistan’s foreign and economic policy. Better connectivity and closer contact between peoples would help realise the region’s large cooperation potential, and he hoped such initiatives would lead to stronger relations and understanding among regional peoples.

A powerful display of music, dance and cultural heritage brought Pakistan and Tajikistan closer in Islamabad, as Tajik artists won the hearts of Pakistani audiences with an evening celebrating friendship, shared values and growing people-to-people ties between the two countries.
