Shaza Recognizes School Girls for Completing Huawei Certifications

Islamabad (GNP): An award ceremony was held at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication today to honor students from Islamabad’s public sector schools who completed the Huawei Summer ICT Training Program, organized in partnership with Huawei Technologies Pakistan under the Prime Minister’s ICT training initiative.

During the event, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja engaged directly with the students, listening to their experiences and taking keen interest in the skills they had developed through the program. She congratulated them on their achievement and encouraged them to continue building on what they had learned.

Khawaja noted that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, the government remains focused on equipping young Pakistanis — especially girls — with the skills and opportunities needed to participate in the country’s digital transformation and compete globally. She stressed that technology’s relevance now extends well beyond the IT sector, with digital tools increasingly reshaping fields such as education, healthcare, business, finance, agriculture, and public services. She said that regardless of the field young people choose, technology will play an increasingly important role in their careers, and that it is the government’s responsibility to ensure they have the skills not just to use technology, but to create and eventually lead with it.

She encouraged the students to continue exploring emerging fields like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, and data science, and to apply what they learn to real-world challenges. She added that Pakistan possesses tremendous talent, and that young people should aim not just to consume technology but to innovate with it and contribute their skills on a global scale.

The Minister also urged the students to share their knowledge with classmates and inspire other girls to pursue opportunities in technology and the digital economy. Several students received certificates of achievement for completing multiple Huawei certifications: Ayesha Zaib (Class 9, 33 certifications), Hifsa Waqas (Class 12, 28 certifications), Hadia Zarnab (Class 9, 28 certifications), Laiba Nadeem (Class 12, 27 certifications), Sajafah Farooq (Class 9, 27 certifications), and Ayesha Mujtaba (Class 7, 26 certifications).

Khawaja also commended Huawei Technologies Pakistan and school administrators for giving students practical exposure to industry-relevant technologies and internationally recognized certifications.

Ahmed Bilal Masood, CEO of AI and Cloud at Huawei Pakistan, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation and nurturing the next generation of ICT talent through hands-on, industry-relevant training.
