Karachi (GNP): The Salt Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SMAP) has elected its office-bearers unopposed for the 2026-28 term, with Ismail Suttar named Chairman, Qasim Yaqoob Paracha as Senior Vice Chairman, and Shah Shamas-ul-Arifeen as Vice Chairman.
According to an announcement from the association, all three positions were filled without contest after the number of valid nominations matched the available seats, eliminating the need for a vote.
SMAP also released its finalized 20-member Executive Committee for the same term, comprising Ismail Suttar, Qasim Yaqoob Paracha, Shah Shamas-ul-Arifeen, Muhammad Ali Shahid, Zeeshan Abdul Aziz, Khalid Mahmood Paracha, Muhammad Aslam, Tariq Mahmood, Talha Hussain Khan, and Shakeel Ahmed Samoo, along with Naeem Iqbal, Jawad Anwar Khan Sherwani, Muhammad Sohail, Faizan Abdul Razzak, Zohaib Jawed Akhtar, Sheikh Emad Magoon, Shan Muhammad, Bushra Suleman, Tariq Mehmood Akhtar, and Saad Imran.
The newly elected leadership will serve a two-year term, tasked with advancing the association’s goals and tackling challenges facing Pakistan’s salt industry.
Following his unopposed election, Chairman Ismail Suttar thanked members for their confidence in him and pledged to continue working on issues affecting salt exporters.

He said the association would strive to be a strong voice for its members before the government and push for measures to boost Pakistan’s salt exports, while also stressing the importance of adding value to Pakistani salt products to help exporters break into new international markets.
