Iranian FM Araghchi Warns US of ‘Miscalculation’ Over Strait of Hormuz

Tehran (GNP): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of repeatedly misjudging critical decisions due to flawed intelligence assessments, a pattern he said extended to Washington’s handling of the recent conflict with Iran.

The remarks, shared in a post on social media platform X, signal renewed tension between Tehran and Washington amid ongoing regional uncertainty.

Araghchi cautioned that the United States now risked making an even greater miscalculation, this time concerning the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically vital maritime chokepoints for global oil and gas shipments. His warning suggested that any US missteps in the region could carry consequences far more serious than those already stemming from previous intelligence failures.

The foreign minister was pointed in his criticism of the quality of information guiding US decision-making, stating that flawed intelligence posed an even greater danger than misinformation circulating in public discourse. He urged caution, framing the issue as a matter of strategic consequence rather than mere rhetoric.
