Rawalpindi (GNP): Marking Youm-e-Istehsal, observed in recognition of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff; Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff.
The wider Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirmed their continued solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Armed Forces reiterated their unwavering backing for the Kashmiri people’s struggle to secure their right to self-determination, a right recognized under international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The statement expressed serious concern over the continued occupation of IIOJK by Indian security forces, citing military lockdowns, widespread human rights abuses, and efforts to change the region’s demographic makeup.
It warned that such measures, combined with hostile rhetoric and aggressive posturing, only deepen regional instability and prolong suffering for the Kashmiri people.
It stressed that lasting peace and stability in South Asia remain closely tied to a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, one that reflects the wishes of the Kashmiri people and aligns with UN Security Council resolutions.
The statement paid tribute to those who lost their lives in IIOJK and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to standing with the Kashmiri people in their pursuit of freedom.
To mark the anniversary of India’s unilateral actions of 5 August 2019 in IIOJK, Pakistan’s Army held Youm-e-Istehsal event, expressing solidarity with Kashmiris in their pursuit of freedom and self-determination. The gathering drew a large turnout from the Pakistani community, including women and members of the Kashmiri diaspora.

On instructions from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, a one-minute silence was observed to mark the day, joining similar observances of solidarity with the Kashmiri people around the world.
