Islamabad (GNP): Pakistan claimed victory in the final of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Volleyball Championship 2026, defeating Bangladesh in a closely contested match.
Telecom provider Zong served as official title partner for the six-nation tournament, which concluded after an eventful run.
The championship brought together teams from Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and host nation Pakistan, showcasing top volleyball talent from across the region while strengthening regional sporting ties.
Beyond the competition itself, the tournament gave emerging athletes a platform to compete internationally, earn official world ranking points, and inspire the next generation of players across the region.

Tournament Highlights
The championship opened on July 22, 2026, with a ceremony attended by representatives from CAVA, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), government officials, and corporate sponsors.
At the closing ceremony on July 29, Zong’s Head of Marketing Sajid Munir joined CAVA and PVF officials in presenting the championship trophy to the victorious Pakistani team.
Zong’s Remarks
Munir said Zong made a deliberate decision to invest in volleyball, describing it as a sport that resonates deeply with young Pakistanis, and said the company believes sports marketing in Pakistan needs to expand beyond mainstream sports to include games that connect more directly with youth.
He highlighted Zong’s 5G network as a key part of the tournament experience, enabling real-time connectivity for fans inside and around the stadium to share reactions and moments as they happened.
He described Pakistan’s 3-0 win in the final as a milestone the country will remember, expressing pride in Zong’s role in supporting the event, and reaffirmed the company’s broader vision of building a technology-driven Pakistan where innovation supports ambition — with sports as one avenue for that vision.
PVF’s Response
PVF Chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob credited Zong’s title partnership with helping elevate the tournament into a leading regional sporting event, saying the collaboration reflected a shared commitment to youth development and reinforced Pakistan’s ability to host major international sporting events.
