Sialkot (GNP): Zimbabwe Ambassador Sialkot Airport Visit 2026 took place as Air Marshal (Retired) Titus Mehliswa Jonathan Abu-Basutu, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Pakistan, visited Sialkot International Airport to gain firsthand insight into the airport’s unique operational model and its contribution to Pakistan’s economy.
Upon arrival, the distinguished guest was warmly received by Chairman SIAL Hassan Ali Bhatti, Vice Chairman SIAL Waqas Afzal, and CEO SIAL AVM Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti (Retired), along with senior officials of the airport. During the visit, the Ambassador was given a comprehensive briefing on SIAL’s passenger facilitation services, airside operations, cargo handling capabilities, and the airport’s pivotal role in promoting trade, exports, and regional connectivity. The delegation was also apprised of the airport’s unique distinction as a project conceived, developed, and operated by the business community of Sialkot.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman SIAL Hassan Ali Bhatti welcomed the Ambassador and reaffirmed SIAL’s commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. He emphasized the importance of enhancing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and assured SIAL’s full support in facilitating increased trade volumes and improved air connectivity.
He stated that strengthening commercial linkages and people to people contacts remains essential for sustainable economic growth, adding that SIAL stands ready to extend its utmost cooperation to further deepen trade relations and connectivity between Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
