Islamabad (GNP): A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft crashed during a routine training mission near Mardan, resulting in the tragic martyrdom of two military pilots. The deceased officers have been identified as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the PAF and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, expressed immense grief over the incident. Hailing the young officers’ supreme sacrifice, the Air Chief stated that their professionalism, bravery, and unwavering commitment to the nation reflect the finest traditions of Pakistan’s Armed Forces. He offered his deepest condolences to the grieving families, praying for the martyrs’ high ranks in heaven and for the families to bear the loss with fortitude.
Similarly, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with the Services Chiefs and all ranks of the Pakistan Armed Forces, extended their heartfelt sympathies to the families of the fallen officers.
State Leaders Express Condolences
The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, has expressed deep grief over the crash of a Pakistan Air Force trainer aircraft near Mardan.
The President paid tribute to Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi, who embraced martyrdom in the incident.
He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and fortitude for the bereaved families.
The President said the nation will always remember the sacrifices of its brave sons who laid down their lives in the defence of the homeland.
He also expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences with the grieving families.

The Chairman Senate also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and to the Pakistan Air Force.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant the families the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
