Islamabad, 4 Aug, 2023 (GNP): Amidst much anticipation, the Bhara Kahu Bypass, a crucial route to Murree and other hilly destinations, has been officially inaugurated for traffic. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated this vital road yesterday, and it is expected to significantly ease traffic flow towards Murree, Guliyat, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir.
Spanning 5.6 kilometers, the bypass includes a remarkable one-kilometer flyover. Starting from Murree Road in Malpur, it concludes near Jogi Bus Stop on Murree Road. The 1,350-meter overhead bridge project is completed in nine months with a total cost of over Rs. 6 billion.

To enhance the area’s beauty and to contribute to a better environment, the civic agency has ambitious plans to plant 50,000 trees along the Bhara Kahu Bypass. 25,000 trees are set to be planted during the monsoon season, while the other 25,000 trees will be planted in the spring plantation drive next year.
In a recent tweet, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Noor-Ul-Amin Mengal, praised the department’s dedicated efforts that ensured the timely completion of this challenging project. He said:
“This was a highly demanding project, with challenging conditions and heavy traffic management towards Kashmir and the North. Kudos to Team CDA and NLC.”
