Washington (GNP) : The trust in Pakistan by the parties involved in the prevailing conflict as well as other countries in the region is a matter of great pride and satisfaction.
This was stated by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, while speaking at the Fourth Annual Pak-US Conference, held at the America’s most prestigious educational institution, Georgetown University.
The Ambassador said Pakistan’s positive efforts and facilitation in the US-Iran conflict should be seen in the light of Pakistan’s successful diplomatic history. He said Pakistan is playing its role with utmost good faith, modesty, sense of responsibility and sincerity.
Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said Pakistan is now focusing on geo-economics more than the geopolitics in terms of foreign policy. He said Pakistan can also provide an important economic corridor between China, Central Asia and the Gulf states.
The Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States said despite the threats emanating from the eastern and western borders, and adverse conditions and other challenges, Pakistan has always played a positive and successful role in regional and global peace and security. He further said Pakistan has always played a leading role in peace efforts.
