Govt taking sustainable measures to promote tourism, Secy Tourism

Secretary Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Saadat Hussain visits Upper Swat Development Authority Camp Office, Reviews Tourism Initiatives

SWAT : Secretary Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saadat Hasan, visited the Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA) camp office in Kalam to review ongoing tourism initiatives and inspect various office sections.

During the visit, Deputy Director Operations Ahmed Sher Khan and Assistant Director Admin and Spokesperson Saeed ur Rehman briefed the Secretary on the development of local tourism infrastructure, road conditions, visitor facilities, and ongoing projects.

The Secretary emphasized the need for all available resources to ensure smooth traffic and accessibility for tourists, stressing the importance of timely road clearance and efficient planning.

He highlighted that accelerating the master planning process at tourist sites will facilitate organized development and the creation of new tourist attractions.

Saadat Hasan noted that, under the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Sohail Afridi, and Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, the provincial government is taking practical and sustainable measures to promote tourism.

These efforts are expected to improve infrastructure, management, and services in Swat and other northern areas, increasing both domestic and international tourist arrivals.

He further stated that the USDA plays a key role in promoting winter tourism and year-round travel, contributing to local economic growth and creating new employment opportunities for the youth.

The Secretary instructed staff to ensure maintenance of tourist facilities, timely road repairs, and enhanced cleanliness to provide visitors with the best possible experience.

In conclusion, the Secretary highlighted that the provincial government’s priorities include sustainable tourism, local development, and public welfare, with the Upper Swat Development Authority acting as a central agency in achieving these goals.
