Pakistan’s real foundation lies in its small cities، Gilani

South Airline inauguration ceremony held in Multan

Multan :  Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the real foundation of Pakistan lies in its small cities and backward areas. He will continue to play every possible role in the development and upliftment of backward and small areas across the country, including South Punjab. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony announcing the launch of South airline  as the chief guest.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that it is a matter of pleasure and honor for me to be present among you today on the important occasion of announcing the launch of South Airline. I thank the entire leadership of South Airline for inviting me to this meaningful event.
He said that today’s event is not just an announcement of the launch of a new airline but a significant step towards regional connectivity, economic inclusion and better travel facilities in Pakistan. The Chairman Senate said that the establishment of a private airline (South Air) is an expression of the fact that where there is foresight, the path to development is certainly paved.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that better access to small towns and remote areas was a long-standing need of Pakistan and I am happy that this private airline project will prove to be a concrete step towards filling this gap.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani further said that in my political journey, whether it was as a Member of Parliament, Speaker of the National Assembly, Prime Minister or today as Chairman Senate, one thing I have always felt is that the real foundation of Pakistan lies in its small cities and backward areas, those regions of South Punjab, Interior Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that have been waiting for development for years.
Today, with this project by South Air, we are joining the mainstream of the country’s development. South Air will further strengthen this process and play its role in national unity by improving access to the public, businesses, education, health, and services.
He said that Multan has always been close to my heart. This city is not only the center of southern Punjab but also a place j کوof civilization, love and service. The people here have always proven with their hard work and sincerity that if opportunities are provided, this region can become a bright future for the country. The launch of South Air from Multan is a testament to the confidence that Multan and southern Punjab are ready to move forward and have the ability to determine their own direction of development.
He said that I appreciate the services of Executive Director SOS Group Kanwar Tariq, who, with his vision and leadership, implemented a challenging project. Similarly, the leadership of CEO South Airline Nishat Fatima is a historic moment for this country. It is a matter of pride not only for South Punjab but also for the whole of Pakistan that for the first time, an airline is led by a woman. Her professional qualifications and managerial insight are the strong foundation of this project.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that he also appreciates the role of Chief Operating Officer South Air Retired Air Vice Marshal Ijaz Mahmood Malik, who gave a credible direction to this project with his vast experience. The role of all the employees and workers of SOS Group is also commendable.

I am happy that South Air’s first flight will soon take off from Karachi and reach Multan, and then gradually strengthen air connectivity to other parts of the country. This development will bring positive changes in Pakistan’s internal connectivity, economic activities and public facilities.

On this occasion, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Rana Qasim Noon, former Senator Sana Jamali, former Member of Provincial Assembly Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani, Member of National Assembly Aamir Dogar, renowned actress Faryal Gauhar, Executive Director SOS Group Kanwar Tariq, Kanwar Shahid, CEO South Air Nishat Fatima, Chief Operating Officer South Air (retd) Air Vice Marshal Ijaz Mahmood Malik, President of the Multan Chamber of Commerce Bakhtawar Tanveer Sheikh, along with other political, social and business figures, attended in large numbers.
