Halal income forms foundation of a peaceful society, Allama Zaheer

ICCI’s resolve to continue fostering such meaningful initiatives

Islamabad: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) hosted an enlightening session with renowned Islamic scholar Allama Hisham Ellahi Zaheer, who delivered a captivating address on the importance of ethical business practices, purity of income, and the imperative of avoiding interest-based transactions in Islam.
Allama Hisham Ellahi Zaheer deeply engaged the audience with his insightful remarks, noting that Islam not only encourages business but elevates it to the level of worship when conducted with honesty, fairness, and responsibility. He stressed that halal income forms the foundation of a peaceful and prosperous society, adding that true blessings enter one’s life only when earnings are free from deceit, exploitation, and interest. He urged the business community to adopt integrity as their hallmark and to view business as a service to humanity.
In his welcome address, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood expressed gratitude to the distinguished scholar for honouring ICCI with his presence. He said the Chamber places high importance on uplifting the ethical and spiritual outlook of the business community. Highlighting ICCI’s strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), he noted that the Chamber has initiated regular Friday sittings dedicated to learning, spiritual growth, and the dissemination of Islamic teachings on business ethics, social justice, and community welfare.
Sardar Tahir Mehmood also announced that ICCI will soon host a dedicated, in-depth session with Allama Hisham Ellahi Zaheer to further benefit the business community spiritually and morally.
He added that such sittings are designed to enrich the hearts of entrepreneurs and encourage them to align their commercial dealings with Islamic values. “A business community grounded in faith, fairness, and social responsibility becomes a true national asset,” the President remarked, reaffirming ICCI’s resolve to continue fostering such meaningful initiatives.
Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub, Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry, executive members Zulqurnain Abbasi, Attique ur Rehman, former Senior Vice Presidents Naveed Malik and Ashfaq Chattah, along with ICCI members Chaudhry Zahid Rafique, Nawaz Basra, Israr ul Haq Mishwani, and a large number of traders attended the session.
