
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Along With Former New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern was present at Pakistan Pavilion COP-30 Conference in Brazil
Lahore : Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif along with former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern inaugurated Pakistan Pavilion at COP-30 Conference in Brazil. The Punjab government established Pakistan Pavilion to showcase its environmental initiatives and commitment to sustainable development. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Jacinda Ardern jointly cut the ribbon to formally inaugurate the pavilion. Jacinda Ardern has been appointed as the Special Representative for Pacific Nations at COP-30 Conference. During inaugural ceremony, the two leaders viewed a documentary highlighting Punjab government’s environmental improvement initiatives. Jacinda Ardern lauded Punjab government’s eco-friendly measures and its dedicated efforts to combat pollution.
Later, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in which they exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed strategies to address global environmental challenges. She apprised her about Punjab government’s comprehensive strategy to tackle environmental issues and promote green development. Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern appreciated Punjab’s bold and timely actions being taken to improve environmental conditions, describing them as exemplary efforts within a short span of time. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to Jacinda Ardern’s distinguished service to the people of New Zealand during her tenure as Prime Minister. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Ministers Rana Sikandar Hayat and Zeeshan Rafique were also present on the occasion.
