NPO Pakistan’s people-centric approach to productivity and SME growth

APO Workshop on Human Capital Management in SMEs

 Karachi :-   Asian Productivity Organization (APO), in collaboration with the National Productivity Organization (NPO), Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan, inaugurated the APO Workshop on Human Capital Management in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The four-day workshop will run from 27 to 30 January 2026 and brings together policymakers, experts, practitioners, and SME representatives from across APO member countries.

Delivering the welcome remarks, Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer NPO Pakistan, underscored the strategic importance of human capital as a core organizational asset. He reaffirmed NPO Pakistan’s commitment to promoting productivity through people-centric policies, leadership development, and capacity building for SMEs.

Representing the APO Secretariat, Mr. Nobutsugu Miyama, Program Officer, Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo, delivered the introductory remarks. He appreciated Pakistan’s continued collaboration with APO and emphasized the regional significance of human capital development in achieving sustainable productivity growth.

The keynote address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). In his remarks, he highlighted the critical role of skilled, motivated, and adaptable human capital in strengthening SMEs and driving national competitiveness. He also emphasized FPCCI’s role in supporting workforce development and enterprise growth across Pakistan.

The APO Workshop on Human Capital Management in SMEs is expected to contribute significantly to policy dialogue, institutional strengthening, and the adoption of effective human capital practices within SMEs in APO member economies.
