Bagh, AJK (GNP) :- Professor Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor of Women University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bagh, met with Saliha Tuna, Country Coordinator of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), to explore avenues for institutional collaboration.
The meeting, held in Bagh, focused on building a strategic partnership to enhance educational opportunities, particularly for women in the region.
Professor Dr. Kamal outlined the university’s mission to promote quality higher education and empower female students through innovation, research, and capacity building.
She highlighted ongoing academic programs and development projects while emphasizing the institution’s growing role in regional progress.
However, she also pointed to key challenges, including the need for improved infrastructure, enhanced academic resources, and greater access to international partnerships.
Stressing the importance of global collaboration, she expressed strong interest in working with TİKA on initiatives such as faculty development, student exchange programs, and research cooperation.
Tuna commended the university’s efforts in advancing women’s education and acknowledged its contribution to socio-economic development in AJK.
She provided an overview of TİKA’s global initiatives, particularly in education, and signaled openness to supporting the university’s priorities through technical and developmental assistance.
A major focus of the discussion was collaboration in Computer Science and Information Technology. Professor Dr. Kamal emphasized the urgent need for modern IT infrastructure, including advanced laboratories and specialized training in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity.
Both sides discussed potential support from TİKA in the form of equipment provision, faculty training, and joint workshops aimed at strengthening digital skills among students and staff.
The dialogue also covered broader initiatives, including upgrading campus facilities, organizing training programs, and launching joint academic projects to enhance research capacity.
These efforts are expected to significantly improve the university’s academic offerings and better prepare students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global digital economy.
