Women found buried alive in Brazil

The victim stayed inside the mausoleum for about 10 hours.

Rio de Janeiro, 31 March 2023 (GNP): In Brazil, a 36-year-old woman was found trapped behind a mausoleum wall at a cemetery after being buried alive for approximately 10 hours, as authorities reported on Thursday.

According to police in the southeastern state of Minas Gerais, the lady was evacuated after workers at a municipal cemetery on Tuesday spotted traces of blood near a recently built tomb closure and summoned emergency services.

“Police heard someone inside calling for help, broke the brick wall, and removed a woman, who had injuries on her head and arms”, as per the statement.

According to them, the victim is believed to have been buried alive on Monday night within a wall containing a number of above-ground graves at the Visconde do Rio Branco cemetery.

The woman was the victim of a gang’s vengeful assault after they lost control of a stash of drugs and weapons they had hidden in her house, investigators reported.

She reported to the police that two masked men had broken into her home and abused her and her husband, who was able to flee the scene.

According to news source G1, the sufferer is still in the hospital but is in “improving condition.”
