Telephone conversation held between the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan 8th June 2020 (GNP): On June 8, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ch. Aidarbekov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M. Tleuberdi.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed pressing issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the interaction of the two countries in countering COVID-19.
Along with this, an exchange of views took place on the situation related to the movement of vehicles through checkpoints located on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border. The parties, noting the importance of creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, came to understand the need to remove barriers at the existing checkpoints Ak-Tilek (KR) – Karasu (Kazakhstan) and Chon-Kapka (KR) – “ Aisha-Bibi "(RK).
In turn, the Kyrgyz side called on the Kazakh side to comply with the current EAEU standards.
Minister Ch. Aidarbekov positively noted the agreement reached to resume the activities of the Chaldovar checkpoint (KR) – Sypatay Batyr (RK) from 12:00 p.m. on June 8, 2020, for crossing the state border with freight vehicles, subject to the necessary sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
At the end of the telephone conversation, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan agreed to resolve issues promptly on a bilateral basis through the relevant authorities of the two countries.
