Iranian oil tankers reach Venezuela waters amid US sanctions
Iran 27th May 2020 (GNP): Five oil tankers of Iran transporting oil for Venezuela, the third tanker has just reached Venezuela’s territorial waters being guarded by the Venezuelan navy. As two of the Iranian oil tankers arrived in Venezuela on Saturday and Tuesday amid US sanctions on Iran’s oil trade, the third tanker has also entered Venezuela’s waters to ease the nations’ fuel crunch.
The shipments have incurred the wrath of the US administration in Washington as both Iran and Venezuela are under illegal sanctions imposed by the White House. On responding to US threats against these shipments, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani cautioned to retaliate if the US caused problems for tankers.
