Violence Against Women has Increased During the Lockdown COVID-19- UN Women – GNP
7th April 2020 (GNP): According to UN Women Violence against women has increased during the lockdown COVID-19.
The UN Women recommends all governments, international organizations and civil society organizations to respond and prevent the violence against women and girls.
Un Women gives some recommendations to prevent and respond to violence during the pandemic and after the pandemic as well. The recommendations include:
- Services to address violence against women and girls
- Psychosocial support for women and girls affected
- A strong message from law enforcement that impunity will not be tolerated
