Statement of Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) to Azerbaijan on 31 March – GNP
31 March 2020 (GNP) : In a statement, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that the genocide of Azerbaijanis should be stressed because of its huge number amongst other genocide by the Armenians throughout history. He highlighted the provinces such as Guba, Shamakhi, Kurdamir, Salyan and Lenkaran provinces and Baku that suffered the most during the genocide.
Armenians in 1918 had committed a large scale killing 48.000 innocent people in Azerbaijan that took place in march -April. The war was facilitated by the Armenian revolutionary federation against Azerbaijani.
In the statement, he requested the international community to recognize March 31 -Genocide of Azerbaijanis in the light of international laws and principals. (GNP)
