The Telenor Pakistan Sustainability Expo 2026 featured a rich array of forward thinking innovations aimed at reducing environmental impact. Highlights included construction bricks made from recycled plastic, reverse vending machines that reward users for returning plastic bottles, a wide selection of eco friendly products designed to minimize waste and conserve natural resources, and IoT based solutions for real time energy optimization and conservation.

Interactive live plantation activities and urban gardening demonstrations added a hands on dimension to the event, allowing attendees to directly engage with sustainable practices and gain take home lessons they could apply in their own lives and communities.

Areej Khan, Chief People Officer at Telenor Pakistan, said that at Telenor Pakistan, sustainability is not just a corporate commitment, it is a shared responsibility that begins with each one of us. She said the Sustainability Expo 2026 is the company’s way of bringing that belief to life, creating a space where innovation meets inspiration, and where every interaction plants the seed of positive change.

She said the company is proud to stand alongside its employees, partners, and the wider community in driving a future that is digitally connected and environmentally conscious.

The Telenor Pakistan Sustainability Expo 2026 reflects the depth of Telenor Pakistan’s long standing environmental commitments. The company also participated in Pakistan’s first ever low carbon Energy Storage as a Service project, deploying 25 MWh of battery infrastructure to eliminate over 21 million litres of diesel use and reduce approximately 1.1 million generator run hours annually.

Guided by an Environmental Management System aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13, and recognised internationally by SHRM for its sustainability impact, Telenor Pakistan continues to set new standards for responsible business in the telecommunications sector and beyond.

The success of this year’s expo builds on Telenor Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a leader in corporate environmental responsibility within Pakistan’s telecommunications industry. By bringing together innovators, environmental experts, and the wider community under one roof, the company has created a platform where practical climate solutions can be shared, discussed, and adopted at scale. The hands on nature of the event, including live plantation drives and urban gardening sessions, ensured that attendees left with actionable takeaways rather than just theoretical knowledge about sustainability.

As Pakistan continues to grapple with the effects of climate change, including extreme heat, water scarcity, and unpredictable weather patterns, initiatives like the Telenor Pakistan Sustainability Expo 2026 demonstrate how private sector companies can play a meaningful role in driving environmental awareness and action.

The event reinforced Telenor Pakistan’s broader commitment to building a digitally connected and environmentally responsible future for the country, while encouraging both individuals and organizations to take concrete steps toward reducing their own environmental footprint.
