Tareen’s Istehkam-i-Pakistan party vows to forge a ‘Naya Pakistan’

Islamabad, 9 November, 2023 (GNP): Jahangir Khan Tareen, the patron-in-chief of the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), declared at a workers’ convention in Taxila that his party is dedicated to ushering in a ‘Naya Pakistan,’ a new era for the country.

Tareen’s commitment to this vision was expressed during his speech, which included the formal induction of former PTI leader and federal minister, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, into the IPP.

Tareen’s vision for Pakistan’s transformation is underpinned by a desire to harness the nation’s full potential, and he emphasized that despite the challenges ahead, working with integrity and prioritizing the welfare of the people will be paramount.

He celebrated the close relationship he shares with Ghulam Sarwar Khan, likening it to that of “brothers.” Tareen believes that their partnership, alongside other like-minded individuals, will pave the way for the progress that Pakistan needs.

Tareen’s speech highlighted the importance of moving beyond past rivalries and divisive politics. He emphasized that Pakistan holds great promise but has often been hindered by internal strife among political parties.

Tareen urged a shift in the political landscape toward collaboration, rather than confrontation, for the betterment of the nation.

The IPP, led by Tareen, was formally launched in June and includes several former PTI members. Ahead of the upcoming elections on February 8, the party has unveiled an agenda that prioritizes a minimum wage increase, electricity bill subsidies for the poor, augmented funding for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), and reductions in petrol prices.
